Six archaeological museums in northern Peru's Lambayeque region will open their doors to public during national holidays, a great opportunity for locals and tourists to become acquainted with the pre-Columbian legacy.
National museums such as Royal Tombs of Sipan, Huaca Rajada-Sipan and Chotuna-Chornancap will open from 09:00 to 17:00 local time as part of the celebrations on the 193rd anniversary of Peru's independence from Spain.

In this regard, the head of Naylamp-Lambayeque Executing Unit Carlos Aguilar claimed that these cultural spaces are able to welcome national and international tourists.

“Independence Day holidays provide a great opportunity for those who might have never had the chance to visit our six national museums that hold collections of pre-Columbian cultures,” he noted.

Brüning National Archaeological Museum, which houses over 1,400 archaeological pieces of Lambayeque, Mochica, Chavin, Vicus and Inca cultures, will also open over the upcoming holidays.

In addition to the above mentioned museums, Sican museum and part of the Tucume museum –currently under renovation- will also showcase richness and diversity of ancient Peruvian generations.
