Innovators Under 35, the major Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) recognition for young innovators in technology, will recognize five young Peruvians on Monday, December 6.

The fourth generation of Innovators Under 35 Peru is composed of one young lady and four young men, chosen through a thorough selection process. The five winners will be recognized by the Spanish edition of renowned magazine MIT Technology Review for their talent and pioneer projects in technology, innovation and entrepreneurship that are changing our society. 

Project execution was sponsored by: Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Banco de Credito del Peru (BP), Universidad del Pacifico and Peru’s Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru). 

“Recognizing innovation in youth serves to encourage new generations to contribute with solutions that improve people’s lives. Innovation is one of IDB’s core values, promoted in all of its actions through partners, in the face of a world that demands new answers,” says Viviana Caro, IDB representative in Peru. 

The event will be hosted by Universidad del Pacifico in Lima on December 6th at 6:00 pm. Registration is free at www.innovatorsunder35.com. The ceremony will also include panels on innovation and digital transformation. 

This year’s 5 innovators under 35 Peru are: 

-Jorge Bado. His web platform provides medical insurance policy holders with quick and easy access to information on their coverage, medical centers and specialists. MapSalud (‘HealthMap’)

-Luis Flores. His robotic fish could diagnose in situ the presence of harmful elements in rivers and lakes and alert the population in real time. Jellyfish-Biorobotics.

-Alvaro Pereyra. Anyone can program without compatibility and download requirements thanks to his cloud platform. CodePicnic.

-Adolfo Valdivieso. His project incorporates real world objects into digital education applications to accelerate learning. Tullpi.

-Katia Vega. He project combines beauty products with electronics to create wearables that give users superpowers. MIT Media Lab.

Latin America’s editions of Innovators Under 35 gather a community of 250 young innovators from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Central America.
