This year’s edition of Mistura food festival, the premier event of Peru’s culinary industry, will feature as guest speaker to the leader of the Slow Food movement and Italian activist, Carlo Petrini, the fair planning committee has said.

In his address on Thursday to reporters from nationwide media, the committee’s president, Bernando Roca Rey, stated Petrini will address the audience with a keynote speech to promote the benefits of organic agriculture and biodiversity products from Peru in a healthy and lasting diet.

Accompanying by top authorities from the Peruvian Society of Gastronomy (Apega), the leading entrepreneur stressed Apega promotes daily style of healthy, nutritious and tasty food based on the flagship products of the various regions of Peru.

For the seventh year, the world's best chefs are set to converge on the Costa Verde, located in Lima's seaside district of Magdalena del Mar, to share their expertise with attendees and foodies.

From September 5th through the 14h, culinary enthusiasts will gather to partake in Latin America’s largest and most important gastronomy summit.

The theme of 2014's Mistura is “Eat delicious, eat healthily, eat Peruvian” and throughout its nine-day run it will feature conferences, master classes, demonstrations, and tastings.
