Mexico’s President-elect Enrique Peña Nieto said his administration will seek to deepen bilateral relations with Peru in trade, fight against organized crime and drug trafficking, integration, and cooperation on the Pacific Alliance.
"We have a great opportunity and I'm pretty optimistic about strengthening our relationship and turning it into greater benefits for our people," Peña Nieto said after meeting Peru's President Ollanta Humala.

He stressed the willingness to deepen trade, public security and fight against drug-related crime.

Peña Nieto met with Peruvian President Ollanta Humala late Sunday in Lima as part of a Latin American tour that also included visits to Guatemala, Colombia, Brazil, Chile and Argentina.

In addition, the Mexican leader is eager to improve cooperation with Peru under the Pacific Alliance.
