Lima, Jul. 15.
The Government of Mexico handed over to Peru 168 ancient pieces part of the Andean nation's cultural heritage.

Held on Friday, the handing over was made possible thanks to Mexican authorities' efforts to protect and preserve the cultural heritage.

Items were returned in accordance with international and bilateral agreements currently in force.

Thus, Peru managed to recover objects from Chancay, Moche, Nazca, Sican, Wari and Chimu cultures.

The set of pieces include ceramic idols, pottery vessels and sewing baskets containing accessories from ancient textile workers.

This way, the two countries reaffirm their cooperation ties in favor of cultural heritage preservation.
