Mexican Ambassador to Peru Ernesto Campos showed gratitude for the support offered by the Andean nation to his country, following the powerful quake that killed at least 225 people on September 19.

Campos also extended his thanks to Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski who expressed solidarity with the Aztec nation, shortly after the 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit Mexican territory.

"President Enrique Peña Nieto, Peru is ready to lend support as needed. My solidarity goes out to the brother people of Mexico," the Head of State posted last Tuesday on Twitter.

"Thanks to everyone who has contacted us and expressed solidarity via social media or by calling the Embassy […]," the diplomat highlighted in this sense.

Likewise, he suggested Peruvian citizens —residing in Mexico— to contact their Embassy, so that they can be assisted while in the North American country.
