Peru and China's historic relations are expected to generate prosperity, Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski indicated on Monday.

Likewise, Peru's top official thanked his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping for his State visit to the Inca country.

"I appreciate President Xi Jinping's visit to Peru, and I hope the historic relations uniting our countries will bring prosperity," the Head of State posted on Twitter.

Mr. Xi's official Lima activities began on Monday morning. Along with Peruvian President Kuczynski, he placed a wreath at the Independence Heroes and Forefathers Monument.

Later, both leaders chaired a working meeting at the Government Palace, where a set of agreements was signed.

As is known, such official activities took place following the APEC Peru 2016 Economic Leaders' Week concluded last Sunday.
