Renowned Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Florez on Tuesday gave one-of-a-kind concert at the Royal Theatre in Madrid to mark two decades of artistic life and raise funds for his inclusive social project Symphony for Peru.

Such project aims to develop artistically and personally the most vulnerable children and youth from the country through the power of music.

Considered by critics as the best tenor worldwide, Florez performed pieces of his long and successful musical repertoire along with the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands.

Directed by Hugo Carrio, more than 100 children and youths of the Peru Youth Symphony Orchestra burst into song from Lima at the end of the second part of the concert.

This way, technology and music got together to produce a live streaming that joined two continents.

Thanks to technology and the deployment of high definition mobile units, the Royal Theatre in Madrid and Telefonica’s Auditorium in Lima teamed up to live stream the orchestra’s performance in Spain.

The broadcasting was made possible by around 40 technicians and different Telefonica departments after more than a moth of preparations.
