India offers 35 scholarships to Peruvian citizens wishing to pursue specializations in renewable energy, rural development and finance, Peru's National Program for Scholarships and Educational Loans (Pronabec) informed today.

Announcement was made by Ambassador of India to Peru Sandeep Chakravorty, who met Pronabec’s Executive Director Raul Choque Larrauri and expressed his willingness to continue awarding scholarships to Peruvian professionals so that they can get admission in the desired specialization, master and PhD program.

“We want all Peruvians to benefit from our grants to study, among others, English, information technologies, administration and renewable energy,” he stated.

Choque, in turn, thanked the Ambassador for his presence and pledged to help inform and effectively channel the 2015 call.

“It’s in our interest that young people can access quality education and know the culture of a millenary country such as India; both are remarkable experiences for their professional and personal development,” he said.

Choque also explained that, a total of 260 Peruvians have earned scholarships through the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program, within the framework of the Cultural Agreement inked by the two countries on 25 January, 1987.

Pronabec, through the President of the Republic Scholarship program, will coordinate with India’s top eight universities in order to award masters and PhD grants to young Peruvian professionals.
