The National Plan for Productive Diversification (PNPD) currently implemented by the Peruvian government is leading to results, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Representative in Peru Viviana Caro affirmed.
"The National Plan for Productive Diversification has contributed to establishing an action framework, within which several economic activity players have already reached substantial results, and we have a lot of expectations [therefore]," she said.
During the inauguration of the "Productive Diversification and Economic Development" international forum, Caro noted that creating conditions to improve growth rates —through a sustainable development strategy— must become a main target.
"There isn’t a unique formula to ensure goal accomplishments, since every country has defined its own roadmap. However, we have accompanied this productivity-enhancement policy for the last five years," she added.
Sponsored by the IBD and Peru's Production Ministry, the one-day event took place at Lima Convention Center on Thursday.
