Honduras, Peru agree on work plan to conclude FTA negotiations

Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) negotiating team and its Honduran counterpart will take part in a round of negotiations to draw up a work plan that will enable both countries to conclude the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) talks.

The aforementioned meeting will take place in Tegucigalpa, Honduras on 10 to 14 November 2014, according to a Ministerial Decree published on Monday.

As it is well known, the President of Peru, Ollanta Humala, and his Honduran counterpart, Juan Orlando Hernández, met during the 69th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) held on September 23, 2014. At the meeting both officials expressed their wishes to conclude FTA negotiations successfully.

Therefore, the National Director for Integration and International Trade Negotiations of the Deputy Ministry of Foreign Trade, José Brandes, has been authorized to attend activities related representing Mincetur.

He will be joined by the following officials of the Deputy Ministry of Foreign Trade: Hortencia Rodriguez, Angela Guerra, Jennifer Olortegui, Monica Guerrero, Gerardo Meza, and Celia Huaman among others.
