The head of Peru’s Production Ministry (Produce), Piero Ghezzi, affirmed the government is working to enhance job training for the youth.

Ghezzi explained his portfolio has been promoting training for youngsters through joint efforts between technological centers and Technological Innovation Centers (CITEs).

“Together with technological centers, we are creating a shared space at CITEs to work on a youth-aimed training. For instance, a joint center between the National Service for Industrial Labor Training (Senati) and a Technological Innovation Center will be opened in Arequipa, he told Andina news agency.

On the other hand, he regretted the removal of the tax credit for youth training costs, since this was highly important to add young workers (aged 18-24) to the workforce.
