The latest poll by GfK revealed that presidential candidate for Fuerza Popular Keiko Fujimori obtained 45.7% support for the upcoming run-off election, whereas Peruanos por el Kambio (PPK) leader Pedro Pablo Kuzcynski got 40.8%.
Conducted from May 23 to 25, the survey shows that 9.6% of respondents would cast blank votes, while 3.9% have not made a choice yet.
The investigation reveals that Fujimori’s strongest support is in the north (56.2%), and east (47.9%) of Peru. In the case of PPK, the largest number of supporters he collected would be in the center (51.6%) and south (41.5%) areas.
The survey also shows that blank and invalid vote options are more common in the south (18.4%).
Results also illustrate the difference between urban and rural areas. Keiko Fujimori got the support of 45.3% of rural voters and 45.8% of those in urban areas; while Pedro Pablo Kuczynski received 38.4% in rural sectors and 41.5% in urban ones.
As is known, Peru's upcoming run-off election will take place on June 5th, 2016.
