Get to know Peruvians' top Google searches in 2017

Internet giant Google has revealed its annual list of the most popular search terms used in Peru during 2017.

This year's chart is topped by Peruvian star striker Paolo Guerrero, who was suspended by FIFA for producing abnormal doping test. The athlete also led the most-searched public figures list.

'Weather' ranked second. This became an important topic for Peruvians this year since Coastal El Niño Phenomenon affected several areas of the South American country, mainly in northern regions.

Third and fourth spots were taken by the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia Qualifiers

Likewise, the song Despacito became a trending topic in 2017. This hit —which ranked fifth on the list— has been streamed over 4.5 billion times around the world.
