14:56 | Desaguadero (Puno region), Apr. 26.

Four foreign nationals were deported from Peru on Wednesday morning for spray-painting Tercentenary Square walls in Cusco's historical center.

Punishment was set by the National Superintendence of Migrations in accordance with a legal resolution.

These tourists broke the new Migrations Law as they committed acts against public and internal order.

The following individuals are banned from returning to the country for 15 years: Uruguay's Sereno Borderolle Andrade (31), Nicolle Saad Oten (23), and Luisina Moreira Pagola (26), as well as Argentinean Ludmila Nadia Nykolajczuk (27).

Deportations took place at Desaguadero checkpoint, on the border between Peru and Bolivia.

It is worth noting that vacationers were forced to erase their graffiti before leaving the Inca nation.

Cusco's cultural heritage was not damaged, but scribbles on the surface had a visual impact on the monumental area's landscape.

According to Peru's criminal code, anyone damaging the country's cultural heritage will face up to 8-year-imprisonment.

Decentralized Culture Directorate of Cusco (DDCC) representative Maria Quispesucso assured monitoring and surveillance have been enhanced in the Inca city's historical center.
