Peru’s Foreign Minister Gonzalo Gutierrez, explained the social and productive inclusion policy of Peru during the Third Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) held in San Jose, Costa Rica on 28-29 January.

He said the Peruvian Government is implementing the multisectoral strategy "Incluir para Crecer " (Include to Grow) so that more Peruvians can embrace their rights and have timely access to high-quality public services, on a basis of equality.

Gutierrez explained social programs and investment in human capital will allow more people escape poverty and increase their development possibilities.

It should be noted, he added, the National Plan for Productive Diversification has been put in place to generate sources of development while encouraging Public Private Partnerships to enhance investments and infrastructure works.

“We are moving forward in the direction that is right for us, coordinating efforts to reform and modernize the State, with public policies aimed at promoting development and social inclusion,” he added.

On the other hand, he said Peru hails the restoration of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States, and supports the call to lift the economic blockade against that country.
