The change of the Economy-Finance Ministry head will not affect Peru’s GDP recovery given greater enthusiasm regarding projects in the private sector, business management consultant EY Peru affirmed.

"After a storm comes a calm, and now we'll have a second [Kuczynski administration] year in which State equipments are better suited to execute specific actions to speed up the economy," EY Peru Country Managing Partner Paulo Pantigoso told Andina news agency.

While anticipating a potential —slight— delay in pending initiatives, Pantigoso assured such hold-up will not be significant considering better prospects in the private sphere.

"Statistics show a government's second year is usually better than its first, settle-in year —with all the challenges we are seeing— because equipments are fine-tuned […]," the EY Peru representative observed.

Such trend, he said, can be seen in all recent 5-year presidential terms.

Lastly, the specialist recommended that Executive and Legislative Branches coordinate better so as to push projects forward for the development of the country.

"Taking things forward evidently requires the joining of ideas. Disagreements and differences are to be expected, but a common objective must be agreed upon rapidly in order to move forward," he concluded.
