Europa is still the main destination for Peruvian coffee in 2014, despite the international crisis affecting the European Union (EU), affirmed the National Coffee Board (JNC).

Coffee exports may have amounted to US$760 million in 2014 despite world economic turmoil, estimated the Chairman of aforementioned coffee guild, Anner Roman.

The consistence is due to the price increase registered between 2014's April - November period.

Coffee harvest may have reached 4’150,000 quintals last year.

In this scenario, Europa is still the main “purchaser” of Peruvian coffee. South Korea holds the fourth position. It buys high-quality coffee types.

In 2014 Colombia has continued to buy considerable harvest volumes, though at a very low price (US$56 per quintal), he noted.
