Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno on Thursday arrived in northern Peruvian city of Trujillo to participate in the 11th Peru-Ecuador Binational Cabinet slated for Friday.

Along with his official delegation, the Ecuadorian leader was welcomed with corresponding honors by the hosting nation's Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Nestor Popolizio.

It must be noted this is the first time Mr. Moreno will join a Peru-Ecuador Binational Cabinet. As is known, he took office last May to succeed Rafael Correa.

The coming gathering will address topics concerning social and cultural affairs; production, trade, investment, and tourism; environment, energy and mining issues; infrastructure and connectivity; as well as security and defense.

The coming event will also see the presence of deputy ministers from both nations.

Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski also arrived in Trujillo on the same day. He was joined by wife Nancy Lange and Foreign Affairs Minister Ricardo Luna.
