12:53 | Washington D.C. (U.S.), Jan. 20.

U.S. citizen Donald J. Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States on Friday at noon.

The 70-year-old took the oath of office at the U.S. Capitol before government officials, the media and supporters. The mogul put his hand on two Bibles, one owned by him and other used by Abraham Lincoln.

"I, Donald John Trump, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. So help me God," he expressed.

The new Head of State promised "to determine the course of America" and "face challenges." Likewise, he pledged to fight radical terrorism.

Vice-President Mike Pence was also sworn in minutes later.

Later, former President Barack Obama and ex First Lady Michelle Obama took a Marine One helicopter on route to Joint Base Andrews to later catch a plane to Palm Springs, in the State of California, where they will take vacations.
