Peruvian NASA aerospace engineer Jackelynne Silva-Martinez will return to her homeland next week to give a series of talks and lectures, sharing her success story with students in Cusco, Puno and Lima regions.
The Cusco-born professional, who was part of NASA's Mars Curiosity rover mission, will address students at San Antonio Abad National University in the Imperial city on Monday, May 22.
On Wednesday 24 she will give talks at Santa Rosa School and Altiplano National University in Puno region, where she will be answering students' questions about her work at the U.S. space agency.
The young mechanical engineer will complete her stay in the Inca country on Friday 26 with a public talk at Peruvian Applied Sciences University (UPC) in Lima.
A success story
Jackelynne currently works at NASA Johnson Space Center in the ISS and Orion Mission Planning Operations within the Flight Operations Directorate, she reveals on her website.
The aerospace engineer has also worked as a Mechanical Engineer and Test Operator at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory on the Robotic Manipulators and Deployable Booms group, performing verification and validation ground tests for the Mars Science Laboratory, Curiosity Rover mission.
She is also the founder of the Centro de Ciencia, Liderazgo y Cultura, which brings topics of science, leadership and culture to the young generation at an international level.
