Peruvian Congress authorized President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski’s trip to Macas (Ecuador), where he will join the 10th Binational Cabinet Peru-Ecuador on October 7.

The event will become the first official meeting between the Peruvian Head of State and Ecuadorian counterpart Rafael Correa.

Previously requested by the Executive Power, authorization was granted at Thursday’s plenary session (119 votes in favor, zero against and none abstention).

Corresponding resolution will be published in official El Peruano gazette.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Fernando Zavala mentioned Ecuador had proposed five work axes: Social affairs; security and defense; productivity and tourism; environmental, energy and mining issues; connectivity and infrastructure.

It must be noted Peru will also participate in Binational Cabinets with neighboring nations Bolivia (November) and Colombia (December).
