Representatives of neighborhoods, population centers and hamlet wore their best, brightest and brand-new multicolor garments during the troupe-contest held along the streets of North Andean Cajamarca city’s historic center.
Residents of most popular neighborhoods: Cumbe Mayo, San Sebastian, San Pedro and San Jose introduced their largest delegations to the crowd amid loud rounds of applause from national and foreign tourists.
The troupe contest kicked off on Sunday morning and lasted for four hours filled with joy, colors and carnival rhythm.
The King Momo festivity will continue on Monday featuring the traditional parade expected to show nearly 50 floats carrying beauty queens. The best costumes on the occasion will be put on display.
