Children and teenagers get prepared to become young tourist guides

The National Service of Natural Protected Areas (Sernanp), through the medium of Tambopata National Reserve, initiated today activities aimed at children and teenagers. Those will be developed during their school holidays.

After holidays finish, the workshop attendees will have the possibility to join the Young Tourist Guides Club of Tambopata's Natural Protected Area. There those will have the chance to become environmental leaders.

Over 50 schoolchildren, coming from Puerto Maldonado's schools, attend this workshop.

It enables to explain them the importance of the protected areas, as well as the role it plays in the biodiversity preservation and development of their region.

The workshop, which is in charge of speacialist, such as: park rangers and volunteers, will train the attendees in the recycled art, Amazonian flora and fauna, climate change, planet preservation and environmental interpretation.
Also, they will conduct guided visits into Tambopata National Reserve.

The Young Tourist Guides Club of the National Protected Areas is an original activity, which purpose is to provide environmental education. It is the outcome of a joint strategy between Sernamp, the Frankfurt Zoological Society and Tambopata's Educational government section (UGEL).
