The ceremony was officiated by Andean priest Carlos Candia and featured a ritual offering to the Pachamama, or Mother Earth.

Alex and Lisa, who are traveling the world in a quest to find their favorite and most unique wedding destination, arrived in Cusco last month to witness the Inti Raymi (Festival of the Sun) at the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman.

Then they took a road trip in their 24-year-old camper van called Peggy from Cusco to the Sacred Valley of the Incas for the wedding ceremony.

"It was very special, the best we have had, people were very welcoming and we are very happy," Lisa told Andina, while touring Cusco's main square along with his husband, Alex.

For two years the wanderlust-fuelled couple plan to travel the globe exchanging vows in unusual, beautiful and memorable locations, which already include several cities in Canada, the U.S. and South America.
