President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Friday said he is convinced the 11th Peru-Ecuador Binational Cabinet will result in mutually beneficial agreements for both parties.

Prior to the gathering taking place in Peruvian city of Trujillo, the statesman highlighted the presence of his Ecuadorian counterpart Lenin Moreno at the event.

"We are going to talk, and I'm sure we will reach very fruitful agreements for both neighboring nations, which enjoy cordial relations," Peru's top official expressed.

This year's Binational Cabinet edition covers five main thematic axes: (i) Social and Cultural Affairs; (ii) Production and Trade; (iii) Energy, Mining and Environmental Issues; (iv) Infrastructure and Connectivity; as well as (v) Security and Defense.

It must be noted Binational Cabinets constitute a mechanism for political dialogue between two nations with the purpose of working on specific issues of common concern included in the bilateral agenda.
