Peru's economy has been registering higher growth rates; in this sense, national Gross Domestic Product may have expanded by 5.5% last December (2015), estimated Carlos Prieto Economic Studies Manager at Banco de Credito del Peru (BCP).

"Peruvian economic activity has been recording higher growth rates and may have probably expanded around 5.5% last December," Prieto forecasted.

According to the officer, Peru is one of the regional countries, which features a significant dynamism within a context where some economies —such as Brazil— are going through a recessive cycle.

It must be noted the International Monetary Fund (IMF) previously projected Argentina, Venezuela, Ecuador and Brazil will conclude 2016 amid recession. Thus, the region would experience a 0.3% decline.

In case the projection becomes real, Peru's December GDP growth would have reached the highest peak since the twelfth month of 2013 (6.9%).
