United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Peruvian President Ollanta Humala will take part in the seminar “Today to 2030” held today in Lima within the framework of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group (WNG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The event will take place at 17:30 hrs local time at the National Theater located in the Peruvian capital city.

Also attending will be UK Secretary of State for International Development Justine Greening, World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim and International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Largarde.

The seminar will address the principal factors of progress towards the new Sustainable Development Goals approved in September during the UN Sustainable Development Summit convened by Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in New York.

Attendees will explore issues related to partnership, financing, and citizen action to eradicate extreme poverty, promote shared prosperity and address climate change. 

Ban will also participate in different meetings and events – some of them are associated with the 2030 Development Agenda and climate – as part of the WBG/IMF Board of Governors from October 6 to 11.
