The European Union (EU) follows Peru's general elections process very closely due to the commercial and investment ties uniting both territories, EU Ambassador to Peru Irene Horejs affirmed.
Horejs reminded a Free Trade Agreement entered into force in 2013. Thus, the EU became the Andean country's second largest export destination and third main source of imports.
Currently, the European bloc is the top foreign investor in the South American nation.
"Therefore, many diplomatic missions have been appointed to Peru," she indicated.
Within this framework, Sweden and Hungary will open diplomatic representations in Lima over the next two years.
"We follow the political development closely and are interested in listening to proposals," she emphasized.
