A total of 373 projects —worth over S/6 billion (US$1.85 billion)— have so far been consolidated as part of Executive Branch and Regional Governors Meetings, known as GORE-Executive, Prime Minister Fernando Zavala said Tuesday.

The 5th GORE-Executive alone has facilitated 175 meetings between ministers and regional governors, who gathered to address economy, agriculture, education, health, energy and mine-related issues.

"80% of agreements have been reached. Plus, 373 projects —worth more than S/6 billion (US$1.85 billion)— have been consolidated as part of GORE-Executive meetings so far," the Cabinet Chief underlined.

According to Zavala, projects focus on key concerns posed by the population since, in the end, they meet regional needs.

He then thanked governors' active participation during sessions, and said this was the first GORE-Executive held during President Kuczynski's second year in office.

The gathering featured Comptroller General Nelson Shack, who presented his work plan and stressed the need for a supervisory body that supports and ensures effective public management in the country.

The two-day event started on Monday, August 21, and aimed to spur actions that will encourage further development in the country.
