17 Peruvian athletes at Pan American, World Swimming Championships

This week, Peruvian athletes will participate at UANA Synchronized Swimming Championships and 6th FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in Santiago (Chile) and Indianapolis (United States), respectively.

The synchronized swimming competition kicks off today and runs thru August 27 at Chile's National Stadium Aquatics Center.

The Peruvian squad is composed of 13 swimmers: Carla Morales, Valeria Romero, Cielomar Romero, Sandy Quiroz, Karen Rolando, Mayte Garcia, Ana Lucia Espinoza, Maria Fe Lopez, Lucia Blancas, Maria Jose Ccoyllo, Yamile Carrasco, Tania Patiño and Fabiana Choy.

On the other hand, the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships —slated for August 23-28— will be held at the Indiana University Natatorium Swimming Pool on the campus of IUPUI.

The team for said event comprises Andrea Hurtado, Samantha Bello, Gabriela Ccollcca and Joaquin Vargas, as well as coaches Aldo Murakami and Jose Torres.

Peruvian swimmers are set to face stiff competition at both high-level competitions thanks to hard training sessions.
