Lima, May. 15 (ANDINA).- Prices of travel packages for domestic and foreign destinations have dropped 30 percent due to the international crisis, and Peruvians are taking advantage of this by travelling more often, said today Nuevo Mundo Viajes agency, from Nuevo Mundo Group.
“This price drop, which is taking place worldwide, will not happen again in a long time. This is the year to travel and we see that there’s a strong demand from Peruvians and foreigners to do tourism”, said Maria del Carmen de Filomeno, the Receptive and Internal Tourism Manager of Nuevo Mundo Viajes.
Results of domestic travel during the Holy Week were very positive, and a similar result is expected for the Inti Rayni Festival during June in Cusco, since booking rates are growing fast.
“We are very optimistic, although tourism is one of the most sensitive activities to the crisis, we see a continuous dynamic in the area”, said to Andina.
She also said that Peruvians are used to travel just once a year, but now, there's an increase in travel frequency due to attractive prices in the market.
