Lima, Jul. 16 (ANDINA).- Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti included Peruvian striker Claudio Pizarro in Chelsea's pre season tour to the United States.
Pizarro missed the pre season tour last year when the team was led by Portuguese José Mourinho.
In that ocassion, Peru's striker suffered a ligament damage and could not travel to a tour to Asia and Rusia.
Chelsea depart for the US today and will play the opening match of their tour against Seattle Sounders on Saturday.
The club captain, John Terry, the subject of transfer speculation over a move to Manchester City, flies out with the Blues after being included in their squad for the trip.
Joe Cole did not travel with the rest of the Chelsea squad for the pre-season tour of the United States after undergoing minor surgery yesterday.
Cole required the operation to correct a small tear to the meniscus in his knee and is expected back in full training in a month.
The England midfielder had recently recovered from cruciate ligament damage sustained in January, an injury that ruled him out of the rest of the 2008-09 season.
