Lima, Jun. 25 (ANDINA).- A group of students from Minot State University in North Dakota, USA, has chosen Peru to conduct a 30-day cultural immersion trip, in which they will not only visit tourist attractions, but will also improve their learning of Spanish language.
Alex John Lyman, Jessica Revelee, Brandon Smith, Whitney Loftesnes, MacKenzie Mack and Kristina Mader, from United States and Canada, pursued a degree in psychology, chemistry, international business, Latin American studies, nursing and Spanish. During their stay in Peru, students will take dance, cooking and Spanish intensive classes together.
Led by a Peruvian-born professor, they decided to participate in this immersion experience to enjoy direct contact with Peruvian culture, since they will stay in local family homes.
"One of my dreams since I teach Spanish in the United States, was to bring my students to this wonderful country, so they can practice the language and know its attractions. So, I decided to refer this project to the Minot State University, where it was fully supported," said Kemerly Moorehouse, Spanish professor.
The trip has been intensively prepared for more than six months, and designed to explore as much of the Peruvian culture as possible, through visits to different tourist places like Lima, Paracas, Ica, Nazca, Cusco and Puno, as well as the participation in several activities.
