"Studies show that 42% of tourists decide to visit Peru because the local gastronomy is one of the country's attractions.” he told Andina news agency.

He pointed out that the delicious and varied Peruvian cuisine is one of the main reasons why tens of thousands of tourists come to our country every year.

"For this reason, we need to diversify the tourism offer, promoting not only the archaeological treasures of Cusco but also its cuisine," he said.

On Saturday, Minister Perez participated in the opening ceremony of Cusco’s “Perú, mucho gusto” food festival, which was visited by more that 6,000 people only in the first day.
