The Festidanza 2010 will gather over 20 groups between local and foreign. Brazil, China, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia, Bolivia and Chile have confirmed their participation and will show the best of their traditional dances. Delegations from Áncash, Huánuco and Trujillo will also be present.
The Friendship Parade is organized this year by the Lions Clubs of Yahanuara. Once again, thousands of people will see floats and groups of dancers.
In addition, the Ciudad Blanca will be the meeting center of the Ecuadorian and Bolivian symphonic orchestras, which will perform from August 9 to 12 at the basilica cathedral of Arequipa together with the symphonic orchestras of the same city and of Cusco.
The Mayor of Arequipa, Simón Balbuena Marroquín, indicated that one of the objectives of the celebrations is to promote the city, Cultural Heritage of Humanity, as a tourist destination.
