Lima, Jun. 16 (ANDINA).- Lan Peru's investment plan is likely to total up to 240 million dollars this year including aircraft purchase and crew's training, among other projects, said the company's board director, Emilio Rodríguez.
The company has made all efforts so that their planes can land and take off from the city of Cusco, using a radar system.
Today, the airline launched two new Airbus 319 planes, valued at $ 60 million each, bringing the total to 16 Airbus aircrafts to meet its domestic and regional demand.
These 144 aircrafts will be used in the 14 destinations that the company operates on the coast, mountains and jungle of the country.
Depending on demand, the company may purchase two more aircrafts by the end of the year.
"Last year we bought four planes totaling an investment of 240 million dollars based on strong demand", he said.
Lan Peru is also evaluating to open two or three international destinations and increase frequencies to its domestic and international destinations.
" Lan expects to transport 3.5 million passengers in the domestic market this year, and 1.5 million on international flights," he said.
