Huacho, Aug. 21 (ANDINA). In order to promote new recipes using local products, the provincial municipality of Huaura, through the Food Supplement Program, will hold on Saturday, August 22, a food festival named “Revalorando nuestras costumbres: consume lo nuestro” (Preserving our traditions: consume local products. "
The activity, part of the program designed to celebrate the festival of our Patron Saint Bartholomew, will take place on Saturday in Saenz Pena Boulevard, located in the city of Huacho, capital of the Huaura province, northern Lima.
Through this event, people will be taught how to prepare balanced traditional and low-cost meals.
On the other hand, the three best and innovative dishes of the fair will be rewarded with a price. Judges will evaluate in the following criteria: presentation and gourmet, nutritional value, cost, hygiene, handling, clothing and organoleptic characteristics.
The jury includes Ana Fuentes Rivera, EsSalud’s nutritionist; Elena Guerra Requejo, dietitian at Huacho’s Hospital; and Lesvy Rojas Garrido, sociologist at the Universidad Nacional José Faustino Sánchez Carrión.
