Pucallpa, Jun. 17 (ANDINA).- As part of celebrations for San Juan Festival, Ucayali region expects to receive 4,900 tourists, reported the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Tourism according to results of previous years since this department was not affected by the violence like other cities of the Peruvian jungle.
They said that 50 percent of these visitors that came from Huanuco, Tingo Maria and Lima, among others cities, will arrive to Pucallpa in order to visit the city and do business in regional fairs.
The other 50 percent will visit the city with a package tour already bought and they will travel different tourist tours; 10 percent belongs to foreign tourists.
Yarinacocha lake, Pucallpa natural park, Velo de la Novia waterfalls and Chullachaqui botanic garden are the main attractions in Ucayali.
Ucayali Chamber of Commerce added that as part of celebrations for San Juan Festival, they will organize a business event with the participation of 150 Brazilian entrepreneurs, who will arrive to Pucallpa to assess new business opportunities.
They will analyze trade opportunities via air transport; coordinate with Peru's National Service of Agrarian Health (Senasa) and Peru's General Directorate for Environmental Health (Digesa), assess customs aspects, phytosanitary barriers, among others.
