Inca wall discovered in Historical Center of Cusco, Peru
Cusco, Sep. 04 (ANDINA). A new Inca wall was found more than one meter underground deep during the archaeological exploration works to improve Márquez street, located two blocs away from Cusco’s main square, reported Ollanta Aparicio, sub manager of the management area of the Historical Center of Cusco's municipality.

According to previous researches, during the Inca period the wall took part of Capac Ñan or royal way that starts from the Imperial City with direction to the Contisuyo, one of four regions of the Tahuantinsuyo.
This idea is supported because the discovered structure is extended in a lineal way towards another important Inca wall of similar characteristics, that includes four straight blocs of Santa Clara street, and according to historical references it constituted a royal way to Contisuyo, Aparicio said.
In the same place also were discovered during the last weeks: water channels of republican, colonial architecture and also transition architecture (constructions of Inca style carried at the beginning of the Cologne).
