Lima, Jun. 22 (ANDINA).- Chinese ambassador to Peru, Gao Zhengyue, said that relations between his country and Peru "are at their best moment" in history, having deepened the confidence in the political, economic, technological educational, cultural, tourism and justice areas, among others.
Zhengyue was honored Monday by the Peruvian Government with the Order of the Sun of Peru in the Class of Grand Cross in recognition of the efforts made to optimize the bilateral relations between his country and Peru.
In his speech, the Chinese diplomat noted the increase of the economic, trade flow and bilateral investments, and added that China is the second largest trading partner and destination for Peruvian exports.
He highlighted the increase of the Chinese investments in Peru, with over seven billion dollars.
"I am convinced that with joint efforts the relations between our two brotherly countries will enter a new stage of development and reach a higher level in the two peoples’ benefit."
In turn, Foreign Minister Garcia Belaunde said that for 38 years, Peru and China have a "strong relationship", which has developed within a framework of cordiality, understanding and mutual respect, in addition to get historical achievements.
