Lima, Jun. 22 (ANDINA). Five Peruvian companies attending Expo Comida Latina in Chicago, USA, have generated U.S.$900,000 in preliminary sales contracts, the Lima's Chamber of Commerce (CCL) reported Monday.
CCL’s Foreign Trade Committee (X.com), which organized the Peruvian business mission to the U.S., explained that preliminary sales have not met the initial projection due to the global crisis.
However, it noted that attending clients have expressed interest in distributing Hispanic products in the American market, which represents a unique opportunity to introduce ethnic products to this country.
Products like passion fruit juices, mango, and chicha morada achieved the best results, while hot sauces, quinua, kiwicha, and grains got a great reception with immediate sales.
The participating companies were: Gloria, Alisur, AGN Inversiones, Chef Natural and Turmanye Foods.
These companies showcased products such as condensed and evaporated milk, juices and fruit jams, pulses, quinoa, kiwicha, pastas, chili sauce, dehydrated chilies, tamales, rice with canned beans, quail eggs in different sauces, among others.
