  • Lima, Jun. 16 (ANDINA).- As Father's Day celebrations draw closer, a Peruvian company expects a 20% to 25% increase in its sales of wines, pisco and other liquors.

Bodegas Vista Alegre's marketing manager Carlos Perez said that the Peruvian national drink, Pisco, keeps gaining popularity among local consumers, especially adults.

“We expect a 20% or 25% increase in our Father's Day sales versus a year ago, but if we compare it to last month, the increase could reach 50%,” he told Andina.

“People are starting to appreciate Peruvian wines and now they are not afraid to buy a national wine for dinner," he added.

According to the company's marketing manager, Vista Alegre will put two new wines and one pisco on the market in the next months.

It is worth noting that as a result of the promotion of pisco as a national drink, there are over 400 companies dedicated to its production, when only a few years ago there were no more than 12.
