Lima, Aug. 04 (ANDINA).- The 2009 Food-Expo fair may generate deals worth US$ 30 million to benefit Peruvian entrepreneurs, who will offer their products from Septemer 9 to 11 in Lima, reported Tuesday Colombia’s Corferias, a leading company organizing fairs, conventions in Latin America, through his subsidiary Corferias del Pacifico.
“This is a very important figure and we may beat it in the upcoming fairs,” the General Director of Corferias Andres Lopez said.
He pointed out that the food sector is one of the most important of Peru due to his competitiveness and global reach, that is why the event will be the first fair of this sector in Latin America.
“This fair will represent the exportable offer in Peru, with the participation of 160 exhibitors in a 4,800 square meter area. The most important thing is that up to now all stands are reserved and we are considering, with the Peruvian Exporters Association (Adex), to expand the exhibition area,” he said.
More than 7,000 professional buyers worldwide were notified, of which 300 have confirmed their participation in the business roundtables of this event.
“Thanks to the support of Peru's Ministry of Agriculture (Minag), Peru's Tourism and Export Promotion Board (PromPeru), Peru's Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversion) and Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), we can receive professional buyers from the European Union, Asia and Latin America,” he added.
