Martelo noted that Santos will arrive in the country on July 23 to take over as president pro-tempore of the Andean Community of Nations (CAN).

This event will also be attended by Presidents Evo Morales, of Bolivia; Rafael Correa, of Ecuador; and Alan Garcia of Peru.

According to Visbal, Colombia believes that the good ties  between Peru and his country will strengthen with Ollanta Humala as new president of Peru, increasing Colombian investments in Peru and viceversa.

He considered that Colombia can contribute to Humala’s government mainly on social inclusion, education, training, infrastructure, and technology issues, among others.
