Lima, Jun. 17 (ANDINA).- Peru's Export and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) will attend the 10th International Congress ASPI 2009, organized by Sao Paulo’s Intellectual Property Association, to be held in Sao Paulo (Brazil) from June 21 to 23, to promote Pisco denomination of origin.
The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) explained that Peru’s participation is very important because PromPeru will present a paper on Pisco denomination of origin and will exhibit the product in order to promote it and enhance its historical background.
PromPeru will also present the development level of its production and marketing, issues of importance for the country as Pisco is a flagship product, with different characteristics and comparative advantages with market potential.
Mincetur noted that PromPeru is a public entity in charge of recommending, directing, evaluating, and implementing the policies and strategies for promoting internal and receptive tourism.
It also promotes and disseminates the image of Peru in the matter of tourism promotion and exportation according to the policies and objectives of the government for the tourism sector.
