Lima-based Adex noted that the amount for the first seven months has already surpassed the total amout recorded last year, which was just over two million dollars.
The president of Adex's Pisco Committee, Jose Miguel Poblete, said that the growth of pisco sales to the US was possible thanks to the efforts of diverse companies such as distillery La Caravedo, which has strategic partners in that country.
"It's really important to find strategic partners in the United States, and other markets such as Spain, Germany and Japan. La Caravedo should be taken as an example for other companies to continue increasing sales of this flagship product," Poblete stated.
He went on to add that during the last months of this year the number of shipments will be higher as most distilleries have already completed their production processes.
