The Special Team of Prosecutors against Corruption of Power (EFICCOP), along with the Peruvian National Police's (PNP) High Complexity Investigations Division (DIVIAC), carry out a search and unlocking operation on the homes of those involved in the case of appointment of prefects and sub-prefects aimed to be used for the creation of a political party.

In the Waykis in the Shadows case, the crime of influence peddling in the designations, aimed at collecting signatures in various parts of the country, would have been committed.

The measure issued by the First National Preparatory Investigation Court of the National Superior Court of Specialized Criminal Justice also provides for the detention of a group of people for 10 calendar days.

In this sense, the arrest of Nicanor Boluarte Zegarra, Mateo Castañeda Segovia, Jose Ortiz Morreros, Noriel Chingay Salazar, Victor Torres Merino, Zenobia Herrera Vasquez, Jorge Chingay Salazar, and Edwin Ugarte Nina is ordered.

After 1:00 p.m., Boluarte left his apartment —in Lima's San Borja district— handcuffed amidst strong security measures.

It was reported that he was transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine headquarters.
