Peru expressed its warm congratulations to Jose Raul Mulino on his recent election as President of the Republic of Panama, and wished him the greatest success in his next administration.
This was reported by the
Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs via social media on Sunday night after learning of
Mulino's victory in the presidential elections that had taken place on the same day.
"By also welcoming the democratic participation of the Panamanian people on (…) election day, Peru reaffirms its willingness to continue strengthening the traditional ties of friendship and cooperation that unite both countries," the government agency expressed.
64-year-old Jose Raul Mulino became the winner of the presidential elections, according to the
latest official results.
The former minister won by a wide margin over his direct opponents.
