"The Vice-President has confirmed to me that the President of China (Xi Jinping) will be officially coming to the APEC summit meeting and also making a state visit," Gonzalez-Olaechea told Andina news agency.

The Foreign Affairs sector's head stated that China has always expressed interest in investing in all Peruvian sectors —an offer that is made to all countries worldwide.
Likewise, he mentioned that in recent years China went from being the fourth-largest investor in Peru to becoming number one in this comprehensive strategic partnership.
"The meeting with the Chinese Vice-President —which lasted twice as long as scheduled— was very fruitful because it confirmed to us that as a country we had the preference, so to speak, of China in Latin America, and that responds to (Peru's) macroeconomic conditions," he detailed.
